MBA Abroad for Indian Students: Countries, Costs, Loans and Tests
For Indian applicants the big questions are usually cost in rupees, whether to take an education loan, how much work experience is enough, and whether the degree will be valued back in India or in the Gulf.
Which destination fits your plan?
| If you want to… | Look at | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Return to India within a year or two | One-year programmes (UK, Singapore, Europe) or an online MBA while working | Recruiter presence in India; alumni in your industry |
| Work in the Gulf | Dubai programmes and branch campuses | UAE recognition/attestation of the degree |
| Work in Southeast Asia | Singapore | Work-pass rules on government sites |
| Work in the UK/Europe | UK and EU one-year programmes | Current post-study work route on gov.uk or the national site |
Budget in rupees
Convert every cost at a conservative exchange rate and add a buffer for currency movement over the course. Remember that loans in India often require collateral above certain amounts and that interest accrues during study. Our calculator lets you add your own exchange rate:

Tests and work experience
- Most international MBAs accept the GMAT or GRE; some offer waivers for strong academics or long experience. Indian entrance exams such as CAT are generally not accepted abroad — confirm on each admissions page.
- Many one-year programmes expect several years of full-time experience; read the class profile on the school's page rather than relying on averages quoted elsewhere.
- Plan English-test dates early if your school requires one.
Paperwork checklist
- Degree certificates and transcripts (and attestation if required)
- Test scores, CV, essays and recommendations
- Loan sanction letter or proof of funds for the visa
- Passport valid for the full programme
- Forex card / international transfer plan for fees
